Strengthening Our Quality Infrastructure through International Standards

Title image

As the Ceramic Quality and Quality Management Systems team, we have reached the end of a busy yet productive quarter in which we remained fully aligned with our objectives. Through both existing and new certification initiatives, we continue to expand the scope and maturity of our management systems.

In this context, our first major achievement in 2026 was successfully completing the audit for the ISO 50001 Energy Management System and becoming entitled to receive the certification. In line with this development, we have established a sustainable and efficient energy management infrastructure by strengthening our data-driven monitoring and analysis mechanisms.

We have also completed the EYDEP (Industrial Competency Evaluation and Support Program) audit, established by the Presidency of Defence Industries, which is regarded as one of the most significant indicators of being a qualified supplier in the sector. We are pleased to share that, as a result of this audit, Nurol Teknoloji has been evaluated as an A-Class supplier.

In addition, following an extensive preparation period, we have successfully completed our audits under BA 9000 (Body Armor Quality Management System), a highly important certification specific to our industry, and have reached the final stage of the certification process. We look forward to sharing further positive news on this achievement in the near future.

We had also initiated our efforts to accredit our analysis laboratory in accordance with ISO 17025. Within this scope, we have completed our preparations and submitted our application. Our goal is to finalize the process soon by confirming the audit schedule. While continuing to enhance our laboratory capabilities through ongoing investments, we also aim to expand our service scope by completing the accreditation process and operating as an accredited laboratory.

On the ceramic quality side, while maintaining our routine controls, we are also focusing on digitalization and artificial intelligence initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our control processes. Through dynamic reviews, we are enhancing the effectiveness of our quality gates. By implementing system-based alerts, we ensure that control processes trigger actions independently of individuals.

To ensure the reliability of our measurement systems, we have developed a digital comparative reporting interface, enabling dynamic monitoring of the process and supporting continuous improvement through targeted training where needed. Furthermore, as a result of our collaboration with the digital team on X-ray inspections, we have implemented an AI-supported inspection program. This advancement allows us to detect potential defects more quickly and significantly increase our inspection speed.

Throughout the remainder of 2026, we will continue our activities without interruption, guided by our commitment to continuous improvement and sustainability. We aim to further enhance our quality-focused management approach by integrating it comprehensively across all our processes.

Best regards.

Lean Transformation and Operational Efficiency Improvement in Composite Production

Title image

Throughout 2025, our efforts in composite production have focused on reducing cycle times, minimizing operational losses, and strengthening the quality infrastructure in line with lean manufacturing principles. Line balancing and layout optimization in both hard and soft ballistic lines have streamlined process flows and enhanced overall production performance.
In hard ballistic production, transitioning from a manual, labor-dependent material handling system to an automated conveyor system resulted in a 10% improvement in cycle time, while solution assembly operations achieved additional efficiency gains. Equipment upgrades in autoclave processes reduced disassembly and assembly times by 70%, significantly decreasing labor requirements. In soft ballistic lines, the introduction of a new production approach eliminating chemical use, combined with automated stitching systems, standardized processes and improved cycle time by 28%.
Under the leadership of the Digital Technologies Directorate, a digital traceability infrastructure has been implemented, enabling end-to-end lot and process tracking for each product. NFC-based labeling applications have enhanced data accuracy and process auditability. Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives have increased process cycle efficiency, while the application of a recovery-based approach in consumables management has reduced both costs and environmental impact. Leveraging our expertise in ballistic composite materials, the commissioning of a structural composite production line has enabled simultaneous and sustainable production capabilities across different manufacturing technologies.
These achievements continue to support the ongoing development of our composite production processes with a focus on efficiency, quality, and sustainability. Through our data-driven and lean approach, we strengthen operational capabilities while maintaining a competitive production infrastructure that can rapidly adapt to evolving requirements. Moving forward, we aim to further enhance our value-added manufacturing capabilities through innovative applications.

From Proactive Safety to a Sustainable Future – Nurol Teknoloji’s Approach

Title image

At Nurol Teknoloji, occupational health, safety, environmental management, and sustainability are not merely components of operations—they are strategic management areas positioned at the heart of decision-making processes. The initiatives we implement strengthen the foundation of a system that anticipates risks, is data-driven, and continuously evolves.

Through our operational oversight approach in the field, we transformed production areas from a static inspection mindset to a dynamic monitoring model. This structure allows risks to be identified before they materialize, while the effectiveness of actions taken becomes a measurable performance indicator. Data collected has demonstrated a clear reduction in both accident frequency and severity, confirming the practical impact of the system on the ground.

Contractor and subcontractor processes have been restructured, evolving from controlled silos into a holistic management model. Achieving 100% legal compliance has been made sustainable through the developed contractor management system. By digitizing previously manual processes, traceability, transparency, and operational efficiency have been significantly enhanced. In the area of process safety, high-level technical analyses have been conducted, particularly in zones with explosive atmosphere risks, and structured documentation has been created for critical equipment and processes. This approach not only controls existing risks but also establishes a framework that strengthens technical standardization and engineering discipline.

The system developed for employee health enables more effective monitoring of individual health data and includes specialized follow-up mechanisms for employees with chronic conditions. Thus, occupational health has evolved beyond mere accident prevention into a holistic model supporting long-term employee health and performance. Accident and incident investigation processes have been restructured in line with international best practices and reinforced with an OSHA-compliant model. This framework analyzes not only the outcomes but also the formation dynamics of incidents, creating a robust and sustainable learning mechanism to prevent recurrence. The effectiveness of these initiatives has been recognized on sectoral platforms; our practices reached the finals of the MESS Occupational Safety Stars program, confirming our organization’s approach to external stakeholders.

Furthermore, to advance our occupational health and safety approach, work has begun under the ISO 45003 standard, laying the foundation for a new management approach that also encompasses employees’ psychosocial well-being. Thematically planned newsletters, lessons-learned studies, and informational sharing have created a strong communication infrastructure that increases risk awareness, nurtures institutional memory, and promotes continuous learning.

Looking ahead, our goal is to elevate this framework to a higher maturity level by deepening the integration of process safety, digitalization, and sustainability. We will continue to move forward with the aim of becoming an organization that anticipates risks rather than merely managing them, and sets standards rather than simply complying.

Best Regards.
