First Local armor Manufactured.

Türkish engineers, after 3 years  of R&D work, accomplished to  manufacture one  of the greatest needs of the defense industry, “ballistic armor plates”

ANKARA – Nurol Technologies Inc. Had invested 15 million £ for the development of  Turkeys first local armor branded “T-Armor” (Turk Armor)

Nurol Technologies Inc. which is a branch of Nurol Holding Inc had accomplished its purpose of  manufacturing 100% local advanced ballistic armor  which had been targeted at 2008.The ballistic armor manufactured in Nurols facilities in Ankara had passed the local and foreign tests at both military and civilian institutes.

The Armor will be used at the protection of soldiers serving at the south-east, buildings, land and air vehicles.

Company authorities said a standart ballistic protection vest (made of steel) weighs approximately between 6-8 kg, whereas the advanced ballistic vests developed by Turkish engineers weighs between 4-5 kg.

Authorites added a ballistic vest with the highest protection level weighs approximately 13 kg,whereas the equivalent vest of theirs weighs between 7-9 kg.

They also said that the armor technology for armored vehicles were developed by Israel before,they were foreign-dependent at the field of armor technology and the countries are not always willing to sell even the equipments and devices used at armor technology field, but they were also able to develop the machines and equipments that they were using at the armor manufacturing.They added that now they are able to bring armor solutions %100 local,the subject is strategic and will provide a great advantage for Turkey.

ONE OF THE WORLDS BEST

The authorities said they are recieving serious demands after their samples had successfully passed the tests in foreign countries and added;

“While the countries are selling their armors to foreign countries,they do not will to sell their most successful armors.Usually they sell the old or pre versions.The armors we develop are counted as one of the worlds greatests.That is why we will keep our best solutions to our own country.Because this is a strategic area.Our troops are protecting their country under difficult circumstances at south-east.They are already carrying heavy loads.They do not want to put ballistic vests on because of the weight added on.With the weight advantage of our vests, it will be preferred to wear one.”

ONE OF THE 3 COMPANIES IN THE WORLD

The authorities indicated that after the R&D process, they became one of the three companies around the world which can produce one of the materials which is used to manufacture armors, “Boron Carbide”. They continued that this material is so light that its inevitable to use it at ballistic vests and aircrafts.

The authorites who said that they are able to manufacture plates which are durable for any kind of threat, applying the national standardarts, light and ergonomic with their sensitive and advanced production techniques, also added they can offer solutions for any kind of enviromental condition, ballistic need, multi-fire criteria etc. on demand.
